The following is intended as a guide for packing and despatching computers and laptops:
Wrap each system unit in a generous amount of bubble wrap as this will help to protect the casing.
Place the item in a very strong cardboard box (house moving boxes are good and come in a variety of sizes).
Clearly label with your contact details and the Griffin job number (if known).
Fill the box with a large amount of polystyrene chips, scrunched up newspaper, or foam and then securely seal the box.
We recommend you use a reputable courier service to collect your parcel and deliver it to us safe and sound and most importantly, in one piece. Alternatively, you are welcome to personally deliver the computer or laptop to our offices.
Mobile Phones and PDAs
Mobile phones are generally less sensitive to knocks and bangs and therefore are a bit easier to transport.
Make sure the mobile phone is switched off (sometimes it is necessary to remove the battery for transit) and wrap a small amount of bubble wrap around it to protect the screen.
Place the mobile phone into a padded envelope, jiffy bag or a small box along with any data cables or mains chargers that are available.
Include your contact details, Griffin job number and any relevant information.
Again, we recommend you use a reputable courier service to collect your parcel and deliver it to us safe and sound. You are welcome to personally deliver the mobile phone or pda to our offices.
